Conservation Hero award goes to the El Paso Zoo

El Paso Water recognized the El Paso Zoo as the 2019 Conservation Hero at the May 10 El Paso Chihuahuas baseball game. Of various city facilities audited in 2018, the Zoo scored the highest for water efficiency best practices, which earned them the distinction.

2019 Water Festival breaks attendance record

This year’s Water Festival at the TecH2O Learning Center focused on how water influences our lives and culture. With a display of short videos, musical and dance groups, art exhibits and numerous hands-on activities, the event attracted 600 people.

TAWWA Nomination
El Paso Water Nominates YISD Educator for Award

El Paso Water is proud to have nominated Lorena Cerecerez, a Science Instructional Coach at Del Valle Elementary, to be the Water Educator of the Year Award, a distinction provided by The Texas section of the American Water Works Association (TAWWA). Many teachers from around the state are nominated, and TAWWA will announce the winner in March.

Texas Waters Specialist Program

In 2018, El Paso Water (EPWater) collaborated with Texas Parks and Wildlife to offer the Texas Water Specialist lecture series at the TecH₂O Center. Over the course of seven months, 201 people attended seven lectures. For those who attended each one, certifications were granted with the hope and expectation that these individuals will give back to the community through a variety of educational programs.

EPCC Spring Arts Festival — This annual spring festival of performing, visual and literary arts celebrates its 40th year and offers workshops, concerts and lectures at El Paso Community College through May.
