Make the TecH2O Learning Center your classroom! Explore the processes that bring safe drinking water to El Paso homes with one of our enthusiastic water conservation expert guides. Our interactive and bilingual exhibits offer an exceptional learning experience for all. Guided field trips are best suited to students grades 4 and above.
- Exhibits: Our exhibits are interactive! Visitors are encouraged to look, listen, and touch to investigate our region's groundwater and surface water resources, the uniqueness of the Chihuahuan Desert, water conservation tips, wastewater reclamation, and much more.
- Activities: Brief activities (aligned to TEKS curriculum standards) led by Center staff may supplement field trip experiences.
- Kay Bailey Hutchison Desalination Plant Tours: Did you know that El Paso is home to the world's largest inland desalination plant? Guided field trips to the TecH2O Center may include a tour of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Desalination Plant. Plants availability is limited and subject to change.
Virtual presentations offer students the opportunity to learn offer students the opportunity to learn from an El Paso Water professional and water conservation expert in the classroom. Presentations generally cover El Paso's water resources, water conservation strategies, and a brief of water use in El Paso. Content is adjusted to align with audience grade level(s).
